A “reliquary” made of water. The work holds light in its pools and edges, letting the flow form a shelter for what cannot be said directly.
These small watercolors come from 5 years of looking: withered leaves, dry branches, insects—curves, breaks, folds. Over time, line and brush felt too certain, too narrow for what he wanted to hold.
Watercolor became the opening. Memory sets the first direction; water continues it. The flow brings what cannot be fully planned, and the hand gathers it back into form. Granulation and shimmer keep the trace of this exchange—control and surprise—so the surface stays in motion even after it.
