Time Series No. 1 is a mixed-media artwork by the Chinese contemporary artist Wang Xiaorong, centered on the proposition of “the materialization of time.” The composition is grounded in a deep indigo-blue base, where layers of aged paper, newspaper fragments, and fibrous materials are collaged and stacked to form folds and textures reminiscent of ancient book pages. Yellowed edges, torn borders, and fragments of printed text collectively construct a “visual archive of time,” solidifying the passage of time into a tangible, material form.
