The painting constructs a surreal scene charged with emotion through highly expressive mixed media: a curled animal-like subject is enveloped in chaotic ink-wash and splashed red, while withered black branches spread like nerves. Between the boundaries of figuration and abstraction, it conveys a profound sense of isolation and a longing for connection.
