Horses are Chen's most beloved animals. He regards them as hisHong Yan Zhi Ji—
a Chinese term meaning "a soulmate who knows one's heart," often associated with
deep, unspoken understanding across differences. Thus, he named the seriesThe
Redas a tribute to this intimate kinship.

This image presents a close-up profile of a single horse. With its eyes gently closed,
the horse appears to be listening —not only to the outer world, but to the
innermost echoes of the viewer's heart.
